About Us

After the Vine Wine Cellars was established in 2003. 

Owner, Jeff Barnes has over 28 years of comprehensive experience in residential construction. The last 12 years have been dedicated to the design, fabrication and installation of custom climate controlled wine cellars. He received his Bachelors degree in Construction Engineering from Purdue University in 1980. Jeff was a custom home builder in Arizona from 1982 to 1990 and in Southern California from 1990 to 1993. He returned to Indiana and started Wine Cellars Limited in 1997. Wine Cellars Limited designed and built wine cellars in Indiana and the Midwest. As the wine cellar industry grew, his experience and reputation led clients to request his services on a national level. In 2000, Jeff started a company that manufactured wine racking systems sold exclusively to a network of dealers around the US. He sold that company in 2003 and became their dealer in Arizona and Southern California. Jeff has successfully combined his passion for wine with his design and construction talents.

After the Vine's California designer/sales rep, Brad Crayton has been designing custom wine cellars over the past 10 years. His love for wine and his personal collecting habits have allowed Brad to approach the design process from a unique perspective that combines form with function. Brad's cellars have been featured in many national publications, including Wine Spectator as well as local Southern California magazines, such as San Diego Home and Garden, Décor and Style and Orange County Home.
